The Inter-College Kabaddi (Women) Championship 2025-26 was held today at the Government Postgraduate College, Israna, under the aegis of Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra. This prestigious tournament was sponsored by Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, and successfully hosted by Government Postgraduate College, Israna.
The championship was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Mr. Mahipal, SHO, Israna. He lit the lamp to mark the beginning of the competition and encouraged the players, saying that sports are not only essential for physical health but also teach important values such as leadership and team spirit. Five women's kabaddi teams from various colleges participated enthusiastically in this exciting competition, displaying excellent sportsmanship.
The Principal of the college, Dr. Hari Om, welcomed all the participating teams and emphasized the importance of women's education and participation in sports. He said that the spirit of "feed daughters, educate daughters" is further strengthened by women's participation in sports.
After a tough competition, the team from Arya Postgraduate College, Panipat, performed brilliantly and secured first place, while the team from Chaudhary Tau Devi Lal College, Siwah, was runner-up. Other teams also performed well.
At the closing ceremony, the chief guest thanked all the players for playing fairly and in a disciplined manner.
